Privacy Policy

Capito helps users improve their spoken English by analyzing speech from work meetings and practice sessions. This Privacy Policy explains, in simple terms, what information we may collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account information: such as your name, email address, login details, and subscription status.

Meeting and speech data: such as audio you choose to capture, transcripts, timestamps, speaker information, and the words or phrases needed to create your report.

Practice data: such as voice recordings, pronunciation attempts, scores, and progress over time.

Technical information: such as browser, device, extension version, IP address, and basic diagnostic or usage data needed to operate and improve Capito.

2. How we use your information

Provide Capito: including transcription, pronunciation and accent analysis, feedback, reports, personalized exercises, and progress tracking.

Personalize your experience: so your practice focuses on the words, sounds, and patterns that are most useful to you.

Operate and improve the service: including security, troubleshooting, product analytics, customer support, billing, and reliability.

Communicate with you: for example when a report is ready, when there is an account or billing update, or when we make important changes to the service.

3. Meetings and recording

Capito does not need to add a bot as another participant in your meeting. When you choose to use meeting analysis, Capito may capture the audio and speech information necessary to provide the feature.

You are responsible for following the recording, privacy, workplace, and consent rules that apply to your meetings and for informing other participants when required.

4. AI and service providers

Capito may use trusted third-party services to process speech, transcribe audio, analyze pronunciation, host data, process payments, send emails, and operate the service.

We share only the information reasonably necessary for those providers to perform their services. Capito does not sell your private meeting audio, transcripts, or practice recordings to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Model training

Your private meeting audio, transcripts, and practice recordings are not intended to be used to train generalized AI models unless you clearly choose to participate in an optional program that explains how your data will be used.

6. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Capito, maintain your account and progress, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request a copy of your personal information.

You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails. Service messages, such as report-ready, security, or billing notifications, may still be sent when necessary.

You may stop using Capito at any time and may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to information we may need to keep for legal or security reasons.

8. Children

Capito is designed for adults and is not intended for children under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Capito changes. If an update materially changes how we handle personal information, we will provide appropriate notice.

10. Contact

If you have questions about privacy or want to exercise a privacy right, contact the Capito support or privacy team through the contact options available in the Capito website or application.
